Varda almost gasped in surprise, only she didn't. For the time being, she was quite safe. Feeling strengthened by his words, she walked forward a bit - but kept her distance yet again.
"I thank thou for such kind a gesture," she replied, her tone of voice still the same with a soft, yet dangerous quality to it - such was her nature. "But - would'st thou tell me thy name?" she asked him.

He stiffened a little, then said softly, as if rem-embering something slightly unpleasent, eyes staring through her to something beyond, "A name can be a dangerous thing."
The Sea Elf shook himself, rem-embering suddenly where he was. "By the People of the Sea I am called Cúroyi Romëarello din’Taloth. What name dost thou carry, since I have given thee mine?"

Varda inclined her head a bit, as if trying to put a finger on his name. She knew she had heard it before, but not sure where..
People knew of her name still, but she wasn't pretty sure the stranger - Cúroyi - would know it, too. He was a Sea Elf, after all.
But she had to be truthful, for once - after all, he had told her his name. She gathered her breath and answered, "I carry the name of Varda Elentári Aratar." If she said more, her entire history would be revealed. Varda looked across to the sea, her silver eyes lost in a short trance.

((And I really have no clue how to react to you setting a dog on me, Kir... agh. Here goes-- this is probably a godmod, but you don't give me enough to work on, you take what you get! *rolls eyes* Darn you Masters.))
It was oddly haunting in the area. One stretch out with firm founded powers told him enough. Something... or someone... of the Shadow was in the area.
More than just one...
He dulled his thoughts quickly-- being telepathic, any other magic users if searching for him could sense his thoughts. Kylan wasn't too keen on that idea. He deadened his mind...
...Until an animal-- he wasn't certain what it was, for he didn't have enough time to take a look at it; he though it was a dog-- bounded through the bush, and tackled him to the ground.
His bow dug into his back where he had haphazardly strung it, and threatened to snap. He steeled himself, and attempted to levitate his pack over.
It didn't work. There was something magical about the animal, almost, and it blocked enough of his senses in the distraction he couldn't focus.
"Call thy animal off!" he yelled, chancing it was a familiar to some wizard of these parts. "I mean no harm to these parts!"
It was that boy again. She had somehow forgotten about him, lost in her talk with the other Elf. The animal surely wasn't hers, but it was so familiar. Unless she'd seen it in one of her visions.
That was it. It was a messenger, of a mage - but it didn't belong to Varda. A flash of innocent panic struck her face as she contemplated (sp?) what to do. She wouldn't reveal her Shadow magic, fearing yet again that they would blame her for something she never was - Evil.
She turned swiftly to the stranger, and summoned her weak Light magic. Her eyes began to glow a fierce light as she began to murmur inaudible words. Moments later, the animal lay beside the boy, unconcious.
Varda knelt beside the creature, trying to catch her breath, but it really wasn't helping. She gasped in pain, trying to figure out what in name of light was wrong with her. Her breaths were shortening as her eyes sparkled their normal silver color. She clutched at her dagger, making her hands bleed, fighting the urge to release her Shadow magic.
((Fudgecakes! I forgot the animal was Hariga... Oh well.. *le sigh*))

((Erm... I might be wrong.... but I don't think Meriptah will be mighty happy that you've killed Hariga... as that's who you've killed.... Eh... *kicks self* And Hariga's a wildcat... not very big, and certainly no Monster. So, let's just say that she's not dead, and leave it at that? Kay?))
Cúroyi spun around as the Mage released her magic, realizing quickly that the 'monster' could be little more that Meriptah's companion. His strangled "Wait! Hold!" was, late, however. "By all Heaven's Powers...."
He wrapped his hands tightly around the edge of his cloak as he knelt next to Varda and the stranger.

((AGH!! You guys...WHAT IS GOING ON??!! I leave for a few days... okay. Considering someone thought Hariga was a...a DOG...and that Meriptah's been completely ignored...how about we say Hariga's been killed by mistake and some sort of shadowland thing has distracted Curoyi, Varda, and Kylan into a little "clash" while it whisks the heir to the throne of wizards away? It's a little complex, sure, but we might be able to manage it. That's the only way I can see this workingout all right, as well as believably.))

((How was I suppose to remember what Hanaga...whatchamacallit... agh. Your pet was, Kirime?! Sheesh. I'm trying to remember enough as it is. You never give me enough information in these smaller RPs... gah.
Okay-- you want to be wisked off? You want Enn's wizardy-dude-guy to do that, and pull you into the Shadow Lands plot, while we all scream and wonder what on earth happened to you here.))

((Sorry, Kylan. But the information was all there at the beginning. Hariga was Meriptah's wildcat companion. She's officially dead now. *shrugs* Which is okay, because she was starting to annoy me anyway. Meriptah...perhaps, yes, he can be snatched off to the Shadowlands, so that when Kirimé comes a-callin', she'll "coincidentally" run into her long-lost (not to mention completely forgotten) son. It sounds like fun, anyway. Heh. I don't care who captures Meriptah, so long as he stays alive and relatively unharmed, and is able to escape from whatever his bondage might be within the time it takes for Kirimé to get to the Shadowlands.))

((*mutters* I didn't read from the beginning, and you EXPECT me to recall EVERY little detail?! Sheesh! I'll talk to Shadow, but I don't even think she finished that profile yet. Stupid... *mutters* And when did Kirimé decide to go to the Shadow Lands, of all things?! Oy. *smacks self* I have to admit, for the first time in my life, I've completely lost track of an entire plotline.))

((Um...don't worry about it, Padawan. You must have forgotten or something, because I was fairly sure you'd been included with tossing around the idea that Kirimé's going to the Shadowlands. On what account, I can't remember either. Heh. It's okay if Shadow hasn't finished the profile...since Meriptah's now been separated from the group, we can start with that whenever it suits her.))

((Just for everyone's information, I AM Kylan. So that all this makes a bit more sense.
But I still am confused. Shadow's using Shiian now, but I don't know... would he be stupid enough to kidnap Kir?? She's used the character in our own RPs, and he is rather power-freaky... but... still.
Maybe I need to make another alias, and get Cyaeth to kidnap you, Master... heh. *rolls eyes* Since he'll have to in LotG, in due time...

((Noooo...Kirimé isn't going to get kidnapped. She's just going to go to the Shadowlands after MERIPTAH gets kidnapped. Since he's her son, they'll...find each other or something. Yeah.))

((Okay, boredom kicks in, so I have officially decided to get this bit of random plot moving again. Ha.))
"By Shaina."
Kneeling next to Varda next to the stranger, Curoyi put a hand to the unconscious young man's forehead and closed his eyes, letting himself feel for what ailed the other.
After a moment, he opened his eyes and removed his hand. "'Tis only the shock, I think. Poor fellow. Perhaps we should move him. The Wind still carries evil."
